From Fort Worth: Take I-30 (the old Dallas/Fort Worth turnpike) east towards Dallas.  Once you've passed the downtown mix master, exit on 2nd Avenue (exit 47A) and stay to the left until 2nd ends at Parry.  Turn left onto Parry Ave, left again at the next light onto Exposition, and stay in the left lane.  After the light at Main street,  Exposition becomes one way - stay to the left and Exposition curves left onto Elm Street.  You're there!   See Parking Info below.

From the Mid-Cities: Take 183 Airport Freeway east towards Dallas.  (If you live north of D/FW airport, take 114 east towards Dallas.)  At Texas Stadium, take I-35E south.  At the downtown mix master, exit right to I-45/US-75 south (Woodall Rogers - to Houston) and merge to the middle lane.  Take the Hall / Lemmon Ave exit.   Turn right at the first light onto Hall Street.  At the next light turn left onto Ross Ave.  Shortly after you will turn right onto Washington Avenue.  Pass the Baylor Medical Center and turn right onto Elm Street.  The Sons of Hermann Hall will be one block on your left, where Exposition merges with Elm and Elm becomes a one way street.  See Parking Info below.

Maps: You can get a map to the Sons of Hermann Hall and driving directions from MapQuest or Google Maps or other internet map services.  Set the destination address to 3414 Elm Street, Dallas, TX  75226-1720 or to the intersection of Elm and Exposition.  Be sure to check text directions against the map!  The one way streets in the Deep Ellum area are confusing and some map programs will give you odd directions.

PARKING: The owners of the building across Exposition Street from the Sons of Hermann Hall (across from the side yard with the merry-go-round) have graciously allowed us to use their parking lot.  Please park on the area labeled "Sons Parking".

There is a small parking lot directly across Elm street from the Sons of Hermann Hall.   This lot does not belong to the Sons of Hermann Hall, but you are currently allowed to park there.

There are metered and un-metered portion of Elm street near the Hall and on some of the surrounding streets.  PLEASE CHECK THE PARKING SIGNS CAREFULLY!

If you park in a metered space please remember that unlike other parts of Dallas the meters must be paid up to midnight SEVEN DAYS A WEEK.   Parking laws in Deep Ellum are strictly enforced.  A few quarters are a lot cheaper than a parking ticket or a trip to the impound lot.

PLEASE check the signs carefully and DO NOT park in reserved spaces or in the lots belonging to any any local business with "no parking" signs.  Be sure not to park in any space marked "Reserved for Baylor Police."   (Don't laugh - people do this!)  If you park illegally your car will be towed very quickly which will ruin an otherwise great evening.

Towing companies in Deep Ellum are fast, ruthless, and expensive.  Police ticket illegally parked cars and the fine is $45.  Please don't take a chance.  Most nights there is more than enough parking within a short walk of the front door.  If you are unsure about where you parked please ask at the downstairs bar.

Our side of Deep Ellum is a bit more peaceful than others but if you are at all concerned about walking to your car after a show please ask one of the Hall's member  volunteers at the downstairs bar.  We will be glad to escort you to a nearby vehicle.

DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!
Texas leads the nation in alcohol-related traffic fatalities.  Alcohol-related arrests in Texas exceed 90,000 annually.  Nearly half of all fatal traffic accidents involve an alcohol-impaired driver.  On average, four people are killed in drunk driving accidents every day in Texas.  We do not want you to be one of them!

If there is even a chance you have too much please do not take the risk!  Dallas Police heavily patrol the Deep Ellum district and DUI arrests are frequent.  The legal limit is .08 BAC and two beers are enough to put many people over the limit.  Please drink responsibly!  We stock a variety of non-alcoholic beverages and a designated driver is always the best idea.

As of this writing, a first offense DUI conviction in Texas carries a fine up to $2,000, from 3 to 120 days in jail, and a license suspension from 90 days to 1 year.  A second offense is at least 30 days in jail, a suspended license for at least 6 months, and up to a $4,000 fine.  A third offence requires at least two years in prison!  Add to these legal fees, which are often higher than the fines.  A DUI arrest will be very expensive and conviction includes mandatory jail time.  It's not worth the risk!

Texas has a zero tolerance policy for DUI so please do not take a chance!  Drink responsibly, designate a non-drinking driver, or take a cab home.

Going to jail (or worse) is a terrible way to end your evening and, at the very least, a DUI arrest is embarrassing and expensive.  Very expensive.  We want you to get home safely so please ask and we will be happy to help arrange safe transportation.

We love having you visit the Sons of Hermann Hall and want to have you back again soon!
